While OpenAI officially launched its generative video AI, Sora, last December, EU regulatory constraints, GDPR and DMA, had so far deprived the EU, the UK, and Switzerland of it. Since Friday, February 28, all ChatGPT Plus or Pro users in these regions now have access to this tool.
In February 2024, OpenAI once again sparked enthusiasm by announcing Sora, its first text-to-video model, capable of producing one-minute videos while its competitors' offerings were limited to a few seconds. The initial version sometimes struggled to model complex physics, spatial and temporal details, and interactions between objects and characters. While these issues have been mitigated, current users of Sora, who can generate videos of up to 20 seconds, report similar inconsistencies.

Sora includes features

Remix, Recut, Storyboard, Loop, Blend, and Style Presets. These tools allow creators to:
  • Reinvent videos by modifying or adding elements;
  • Organize video sequences on a personal timeline;
  • Create seamlessly looping videos or combine multiple clips without visible transitions;
  • Apply predefined visual styles to personalize videos.
To simplify the user experience, OpenAI has designed a dedicated interface for Sora, including a storyboard tool that allows precise definition of each video element. Sora thus offers content creators a combination of flexibility, ease of use, and customization options.

Pricing Options

Sora is included in the ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Pro subscriptions, offering features tailored to different levels of need:
