L’Idiap est une fondation de recherche à but non lucratif reconnue par la Confédération suisse comme relevant du domaine stratégique des écoles polytechniques fédérales. Ses trois piliers sont la recherche, la formation et le transfert de technologie dans le domaine de l’intelligence artificielle appliquée pour la société.
L’Idiap est connu pour son étroite collaboration avec Google et d’autres géants du web. Ses travaux ont notamment servi de base à PyTorch, célèbre infrastructure d’apprentissage profond utilisée par Facebook. L’Idiap dispose en outre d’une solide expérience dans le transfert de technologie et se présente comme un excellent incubateur d’entreprises, parmi lesquelles Keylemon, Klewel, Biowatch ou encore Eyeware.
