Geoffrey Hinton est l'un des pères du Deep Learning. Il a présenté en octobre 2017 une nouvelle technique, celle des capsule networks, comme une nouvelle approche de l'intelligence artificielle. Cette approche permettrait d'obtenir des performances au moins égales à celles du Deep Learning tout en étant moins sensible à la manipulation de données d'entrainement destinée à induire l'IA en erreur.
