Demis Hassabis est l'un des créateurs de DeepMind et un spécialiste de l'IA. Neuroscientifique, développeur et concepteur de jeux vidéo britannique, il est également entrepreneur. Formé à Cambridge, il est Philosophiae doctor en neurosciences cognitives à l'University College de Londres.
Demis Hassabis a été un enfant prodige des échecs et un joueur de haut niveau dans d'autres jeux. Il a créé le studio de développement Elixir Studios en 1998 avant de fonder DeepMind avec Mustafa Suleyman et Shane Legg en 2010.
Spécialisée dans l'intelligence artificielle, l'entreprise intéresse de nombreux groupes et est finalement racheté par Google en 2014. Demis Hassabis y travaille toujours en tant que vice président of Engineering.
En 2017, le magazine américain Time a placé Demis Hassabis parmi les 100 personnes les plus influentes au monde et il est considéré comme un pionnier.
